That got your attention, didn’t it? I am a licensed massage therapist in the state of Arizona. There are laws that govern how we drape a body and what we’re allowed to expose and touch. I’ve worked on more than a few people who roll their eyes when I scoot out of the room while they’re undressing. “I don’t care.” They’ll say. I don’t either. I’m not afraid of nudity, but I have to follow the tight ass laws of this state or run the risk of loosing my license.
Get this. Man nipples are okay. I can look at them and can even work the pectoral muscles around them. I’m just not allowed to touch them. Fine, I’m okay with that. I can tuck the sheet past his ribs and access the whole chest. Women nipples? Holy shit! You’d think they shoot lasers or acid the way the law goes. No exposure. It’s hard to work a woman’s pectoral muscles through a sheet. Especially when she’s got some large, REAL breasts to work around. The fake ones stay put. So, WTF is wrong with women’s breasts? Why can’t women walk around topless, if they choose to? Men with no, fucking business walking around without a shirt and sports bra, do it all the time.
It’s not fair, and now I have to go bleach my eyes..
Now, I’ve worked on women who have had a radical mastectomy on both breasts and have nothing but a long scar. Legally, I can work her chest, since there are no nipples. What about transgender people?
One of my massage school classmates had been practicing on a friend who was transitioning from male to female. She wondered about the laws concerning male and female breasts and when did a breast become “dangerous” and in need of being covered up?
Sorry about that. So, what makes a female nipple, taboo? Forget cultural, stigmas, and personal tastes. Just look at it anatomically. Bedsides being able to lactate, what’s the difference, aesthetically? Last time I checked. Breast milk is neither caustic or flammable. Though, a boob flame thrower would be awesome!
So, when the transition is from female to male. When does a taboo, woman nipple, magically become non threatening, man nipple? When can we get over shaming any body part? Genitalia is not an issue in my work. You drape and work around. Boobs, breasts, jugs, OMG, not the female, nipple!! My eyes! Seriously, get over it.
