I love my work! People ask me what I do for a living and I respond, with a smile. “I make people feel wonderful.”
Granted, some people leave me wondering why they came in for a treatment. They don’t seem to want to give up what’s causing them pain. So, I have to use loving, energy and some Jedi mind tricks to get them to lower their guard, so I can knead some of the funk away. I feel like I should go back to school and become a licensed psychotherapist. Can you imagine the awesome, body/mind treatment that would be? Ah, well. I’ll have to settle for sympathetic, confidant, massage therapist. It’s good to feel safe enough to cry, vent or just snooze.
I got to spend some time with another, magical, massage therapist, friend of mine. We went to the Gem and Mineral show. She’s one of those people who loves her stones. Her jewelry is always stunning and I trust her to know what to look for. I just like shiny, colorful things. We found some lovely stones and met some interesting people. As always, we talk shop and compare notes. She’s an amazing, intuitive and hilarious. I love a mixture of serious, spiritual exploration with a dirty joke or expletive, thrown in for contrast. Good times. Just when we were ready to call it a day. Something called my attention, something fierce.
We both, ended up getting two, small wands. Gorgeous! Looking at this box full of them, reminded me of Monet’s Water Lilies.
Now, we can’t wait to use them in our treatments. My friend uses stones in her work. Her room hums with their subtle vibrations and pretty shininess. I’m not sure about using stones, but I think I’ll just have a few in my room. Just to experiment with their energy. The ones I got actually buzzed in my hand. Should be interesting. I have a diverse group of clients tomorrow.
