All work and no play makes Patricia very cranky. This week has been full of clients in desperate need of my services. I’m more than happy to help, but don’t get three kinds of butt-hurt when I’m unable to come to your aid at the drop of a hat. I do not live my life, flying around in a holding pattern. Waiting for someone to summon me. Despite the rumors, I have a life beyond my work.
I expend a lot of energy, working on people. It’s allergy season and I’m coping with a severe case. I’d like to be cared for once in a while. No one seems to be concerned about me, until they need something. Then it’s “Hurry up and get better so you can take care of me.” So, today, I’m treating myself to a day of self care. I’ve already had to turn down an appointment. Another, regular client who thinks I’m just waiting for their call. I let him slide more than most. Only because he’s a very creative and spontaneous person and totally understands my need for downtime. It never hurts to ask. Just don’t have an attitude about it.
It’s time for a well deserved nap, after some yogurt and bee pollen.
