As someone who is on good terms with their body. I like to treat it well.
Other than the basics, good food, exercise, meditation, sleep…I love my “spa nights”! It can be as simple as a foot soak and computer games to a clay bath, then a full body exfoliation, moisturizing, and essential oil fiesta.
I love experimenting with natural, mostly, edible ingredients. Plain yogurt, honey, oil, salt, sea weed, unrefined sugar, coffee, teas, herbs, clay, wax and butters. Essential oils are fun to work with, too.
Most are spontaneous recipes. Balms, scrubs, bath salts, aroma therapy blends, and incense.
Tonight sparked this blog post. I’m sipping my Irish whiskey, eating melon with cheese and enjoying the scent of tonight’s scrub. Coconut sugar, coffee and coconut oil. After rinsing, I massaged a bit of patchouli into my oily skin. Patchouli mixes really well with the scent of coconut and coffee.
I love this self care alchemy. Yeah, my bathroom is a mess and I have strange mixtures left in bowls and cups. My skin is soft, smells yummy and I feel relaxed and refreshed.
