I finally got a session in with my tattoo artist. He’s getting rather popular and I’m worried I’ll get lost in the long line of ink junkies, before this is finished.
I was only able to withstand a little less than 2 hours. It’s getting cold in Tucson and I’ve observed that being cold makes you clench. When you clench, the pain is worse. I don’t like pain. I really felt like a wienie because the woman before me got a tattoo on her armpit. My tattoo guy even commented on how stoic she was. Not a smear on her eyeliner. Damn, that’s a high pain tolerance.
Me, I was close to tears when I asked to stop. I could feel my skin weeping and I was afraid if we worked too much. I’d have another episode of mild shock. Not fun. Good news is my shirt didn’t stick to my back during the night. Now, that’s worse than pulling off a band-aid. It just feels like a bad sunburn.
Sketch of the fire woman in the mouth of the dragon.
First round. Meditative breathing helps.
That’s all I can take, this time.
I still have more leaves, detail on the dragon, tree trunk and otters, frolicking in the water.
Am I insane!?
